Sanjay is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and has over a decade of experience in the education and training of doctors in postgraduate training. He was Director of Medical education for UHS from 2019-2023 and was awarded a Fellowship of the academy of medical educators.

Sanjay has led on work with colleagues in UHS, and across the region, to improve equity, diversity and inclusion and belonging for doctors.

He believes that all of us should expect to be heard, valued, and have opportunities and support to progress regardless of background or profession.

Sanjay also believes that research teams which are inclusive and diverse at all levels lead to research excellence.

He was appointed as a BRC Equity Champion with Olatundun Gafari in January 2025.
