Innovation and IP Management
Signposting and advising on aspects of innovation within the BRC including commercialisation, partnerships and translation of research into real-world applications. Acting as a facilitator for developing a culture of innovation and collaboration between research, industry and other stakeholders.

Imaging Call
The BRC have funds available to support MRI pump-priming projects aligned to the BRC Smart objectives. The aim of the scheme is to develop competitive external funding applications for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging studies, leading to an increase in grants awarded to the BRC UHS/UoS partnership. The scheme is not intended for small stand-alone projects without a clear plan leading to larger more definitive studies.

CIRU - Clinical Informatics Research Unit
The Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU) operates as an applied research and enterprise unit within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, with over 25 years of experience in providing clinical research solutions and services across the globe, advancing data excellence, quality, management, and improving research conduct.
SETT - Southamtpon Emerging Therapies and Technologies Centre
The SETT Centre supports research across three key themes: Advanced Therapies, MedTech and Innovation, and Data and AI. It offers end-to-end support, from concept development to study setup and delivery.
Advanced Therapies focuses on translating gene and cell therapies into clinical practice, with growing research in areas such as Haematology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology, and Neurology.
MedTech and Innovation helps researchers develop and deliver medical technology innovations aimed at improving patient care.
Data and AI provides tools such as automated pipelines for identifying patient cohorts, enhancing trial recruitment, and supporting advanced data analysis, machine learning, and AI applications.
Researchers can engage with the SETT Centre to accelerate the development and delivery of impactful, patient-focused studies.

Health Economics Advice Collaboration
Based in the School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education (Southampton Health Economics | University of Southampton), and have expertise in a range of economic methods which we have applied across a variety of research topics.
Our research focuses on identifying, measuring and valuing the costs and outcomes of interventions/services/treatments as a means to inform decisions about allocating available resources to promote health and provide health care.
We have expertise and intrest in: economic evaluations embedded within clinical trials, evidence synthesis, decision analytic modelling, realist economic evaluation methods and economic studies using observational and retrospective data sets.
Education, traning and development fund
The BRC have funds available within an Education, Training and Career development fund. The purpose of thr fund it to support further deucation and traning for eligible appplicants, to encoourage and support BRC-aligned junior investigators in disseminating their research and to raise the profile of the achievements of BRC-aligned junior investigatos. To apply for the fund reasearchers must be in the early phase of their carer or research support staff. Reasearch should be aligned with BRC themes.
