The Viking Thing Programme
The NIHR Southampton BRC is supported by the Southampton Centre for Research Engagement and Impact (SCREI) to ensure public involvement is embedded in all our activities. Together, we have developed a governance model that places Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) at board level known as the Viking Thing.
We collaborate with a diverse group of contributors and staff partners who engage directly with research teams across all themes, offering valuable insights from their lived experiences and perspectives that represent both patients and the wider public.
If you have any questions or would like more information about our Viking Thing programme, please contact us by emailing PublicInvolvement@uhs.nhs.uk.
Viking contributor Elizabeth speaks about her experience being part of the programme.
