Dr Anna Freeman’s research interests focus on the role of exercise as a disease modifying intervention in asthma. Since 2016, she has worked as a co-investigator in the WATCH cohort of Difficult Asthma. 

Anna has worked to combine her exercise medicine research with difficult asthma to focus on the prevalence and management of multimorbidity. She is also involved in respiratory viral infection research, setting up a trust wide database for COVID and more recently as a co-investigator on the UoS led multicentre respiratory viral infection study UNIVERSAL. Anna works clinically as a Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine.
