Ying is a Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and the Professor of Reproductive Medicine.
She is the Medical Director of Complete Fertility Centre Southampton, UK. Ying’s research is on the endometrium and its environment for implantation and works across discipline with the School of Electronics and Computer Science and Nanoscience, University of Southampton in the development of nano-therapeutics and medical biosensors. She holds several NIHR and commercial grants and is an experience clinical trialist.
She is currently an editor within the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility group, and Scientific Report, a journal from Nature’s publishing group. Ying is active in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Versobiosense is a spin out company from University of Southampton, founded by Prof Cheong and her colleagues, now located in Oxford Business Park. It employs over 30 personnel and has transitioned into a commercial entity. The company focuses on biosensors of in vivo environment.
Complete Fertility was founded by Prof Cheong and her colleagues. In 2018, it was privatised by the NHS and is now owned by Virtus health; the centre now employs over 50 staff, is active in research and training and importantly, treats thousands of NHS and private patients with infertility every year.
