Dr Daniels has been a respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis (CF) consultant physician at University Hospital Southampton since 2009.
He is involved in many different areas of research including molecular microbiology and clinical aspects of CF care. More recently he has extended his research into applications of Machine Learning into clinical care, in CF, Emergency Department care, and in Early Warning Scores.

2019: CF Trust Venture and Innovation Award; “Non-tuberculosis mycobacteria infection and the wider lung microbiota in cystic fibrosis” funded by Cystic Fibrosis Trust; main applicant is Professor C van der Gaast at Manchester Metropolitan University and I am lead clinician and co-investigator; amount £96,000; ongoing.
