I am a bioinformatician who has focussed largely on transcriptomics approaches throughout my research but I have had a broad range of experience working on multiple datasets such as proteomics, methylations, microarray, clinical data and genomics. My current role as Data Science Lead focusses on data storage and access as well as analysis for patient data to improve health outcomes as well as supporting BRC research projects.
I am working as Data Science Lead in the Clinical Informatics Research Unit. In this role I am focusing on accessing patient and other types of data as well as the storage and analysis of such datasets. I am the University’s administrator for our database storage and entry system bc platforms that is being utilized in many projects as well as projects active within the BRC. Before this current post, my career has focused largely on bioinformatics research. I focused largely on transcriptomics where I taught on the integrative PhD program at Southampton University. I also have experience with microarray, methylation, proteomics and genomics datasets to name a few. I originally undertook a PhD that focused on Reverse Vaccinology. This is a method that uses machine learning to predict novel vaccine candidates.
