How can we accelerate diagnosis to improve patient care and reduce antimicrobial resistance?

• Rapid diagnostic tests: we are informing recommendations for the national deployment of rapid and point-of-care diagnostics to benefit triage, care, and antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control in hospitals and communities.

 

• Electronic microbiological diagnostic systems: we are generating evidence on next-generation electronic and optoelectronic based microbiological diagnostic systems, including antimicrobial sensitivity testing to speed up diagnosis and treatment and help reduce antimicrobial resistance.
